Mike Cannon, originally from Cambridge, is now 25 years old. He graduated alongside Dan with a 2.1 in Environmental Geography at the University of East Anglia in 2011.
Prior to the completion of the London to Kenya 5000 mile cycling expedition with the team, Mike worked in Dubai for Emirates Green Building Council focussing on climate change and sustainability. He has since worked for a brief period at Cornwall Energy as a Renewable Energy Analyst before joining the Thames Water graduate scheme in September 2012. After completing 12 months with the Energy & Carbon Team, Mike now works in the Strategy & Regulation department of the business.
Mike has always been a keen sportsman, previously competing at a national and county level for swimming and running respectively. Despite successfully completing previous challenges with the team, he believe they have yet again set themselves the toughest one yet: ‘Before every challenge we consider what a mammoth task we have set ourselves and whether this is the time we have gone TOO FAR! I do believe the Water Cycle Challenge will prove the hardest event the team has endeavoured to achieve to date, I just hope that previous experience, the help and support of our friends, families and the sponsors, and of course a lot of luck, are good enough to see us return to the sacred Tower Bridge!’
